Clarification

Actually, licensed hunters can use spotlights, flashlights, headlights, etc. to hunt non-game animals such as wild
hogs, predators, raccoons,
rabbits, etc. legally at
night
Why unfavorable?

You don't think the blind should be able to hunt with a person
that has sight or you don't believe in hunting period?

Summary
Allows legally blind hunters to use laser sights to hunt, provided they hunt with the assistance of a sighted guide. Laser sights, spotlights and headlights are all currently prohibited for use in game hunting in Texas.
This bill has received national media coverage as a bill allowing the blind to hunt. However, as noted on the Chronicle Outdoors Blog, the blind can already get a hunting license in Texas. This bill merely allows them to use otherwise illegal laser sighting devices.
Political Commentary
The Texas State Rifle Association supports the bill. The American Council of the Blind of Texas will consider it at their next meeting.Additional Links
