Summary

H.B. 408 would regulate noise pollution attributable to persistent and disruptive dog barking in unincorporated Montgomery County. Barking could constitute a public nuisance given the time of day, the proximity of the noise to other premises, and whether the barking is recurrent, intermittent, or constant.

Background

This bill was filed on behalf of Montgomery County Justice of the Peace 3 Edie Connelly./1/

This bill was previously filed as HB 663 in the 79th regular session. In that session the bill came out of committee and was placed on General State Calendar, but was not further considered. The Montgomery County Courier reports it was received with "mixed support" in the past./1/
