Summary

Changes the election code to require all enumerated information on the Texas essential knowledge and skills list appears in both the student and teacher version of the books.

Background

The SBOE has in the past adopted textbooks that withhold information required by The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum standards from the student version.

This bill would require all TEKS information to appear in both the student and teacher version. This closes an loophole that the SBOE has used in the past to adopt textbooks that fail to discuss the effectiveness and ineffectiveness of barrier protection and other contraceptive methods.
