Summary



SB 99 modifies the semi-annual colonias classification report by increasing the number of state agencies required to submit data about projects that serve colonias and increasing the logistical and financial reportings made by agencies, state and local governments regarding colonia improvements.

Detailed Changes


* This bill brings the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and Attorney General into the reporting process.

* It restricts the release of further funds if the reporting requirement is not met.

* Creates an "ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR COLONIAS" program at a institute of higher learning.

* Alters the definition of a colonia to require a county with a population of 11 or more.
