Summary
Limits Class actions under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) by:
1) Limiting economic damages to damages relating to the cost of the good.
2) Requiring each member of the Class to prove on an individual basis the effect of the deceptive action upon them.
Background
This bill would effectively eliminate the ability of consumers to use class actions to enforce the DTPA.
