There may be little the government of Texas can do to alter the genocide in Sudan, but this is the least it can do - drain the coffers, send the message.

Directs the Employees Retirement System of Texas and the Teacher Retirement System of Texas not to invest companies that have contracts with the government of the Republic of Sudan.Background
Sudan's actions in the Darfur Genocide, have led 6 states (California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey and Oregon) to pass legislation disinvesting in that area. Litigation against the Illinois Statute is underway.Similar language is in HB 419 and the companion bill is HB 667
