Removes the evaluation of "written statements from state elected officials" from the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) allocation scoring procedure. Background
This bill implements one part of the recommendations of the House Committee on Urban Affairs interim report. This recommendation was intended to reduce the impact of NIMBYism in the LIHTC allocation process. The Interim Report also recommended removing the evaluation of neighborhood support in the scoring process for the same reason. This bill does not address that recommendation.See the Billhop LIHTC page for more information about the LIHTC program.
