Summary
Requires that gym classes include 30 minutes of "moderate or vigorous" activity each day (or 135 minutes a week) for students, and requires an evaluation and report on student fitness twice a year.
Background
Texas has 3 of the ten fattest cities in America./1/ While current law requires 30 minutes of gym class, there is no activity threshold.

regular exercise = healthier bodies = healthier minds = reduce the needs for pharmaceuticals over the course of a lifetime. that's a revolution.

but that's ok, we're here to debate. so. i won't argue that it solves everything, but the research demonstrates that there is a link between exercise and mental health, and that it assists in maintaining more positive mental attitudes, as well as assisting people with depression and addictions. There is a cornucopia of research. You could start here: http://apt.rcpsych.org/cgi/content/full/8/4/262
